Jessica & Dennis | Lock 3 Akron Anniversary Photos

When Jessica asked if I would do some anniversary photos for her and Dennis, I'm pretty sure my exact thoughts were Ohhhhhhhmygosh!!!! YES, YES! How do I get this lucky?! No really, how? I've said it about a gazillion times, but I really do have the greatest clients. Jessica and Dennis have become friends of mine over the last few years (remember their almost-rained-out outdoor wedding that actually turned out perfectly?) and it's crazy to think that I wouldn't know these two if it wasn't for this little business of mine. I'm immensely thankful every day.

Jessica and Dennis, thank you for being fantastic. Period. :)

Akron's Lock 3 park was such a versatile backdrop for their 1-year anniversary photos. Green grass on one side and an urban backdrop just down the sidewalk!

These two laugh a lot. I love it.

I'll admit, I was a little skeptical about their cake topper tasting good but there were talks of seconds after they finished that first piece. Pumpkin spice for the win!

March Goals

I thought about making that cover photo one I recently took in the snow, but I then I realized that NO ONE WANTS TO SEE SNOW ANYMORE. :) Tulips are much friendlier now that it's March. I'm optimistic that spring is just around the corner. But while we're waiting for it, Nathan and I decided to get out of dodge and hang out just the two of us in a much warmer climate (wanna guess where we are??). This is our last hurrah before my busy season starts to pick up, and I can't wait to share tropical photos when we get back!

In the meantime, I've been working on my March goals--my last month to get a TON of off-season stuff done. I think it's going to be a successful one!

March Goals

• Read three books (Wonder, Strengths Finder 2.0 and Reading Lolita in Tehran)
• Start my spring/summer capsule wardrobe
• Start designing our living room mantle
• Order a new sample album
• Complete content for my new client guide
• Plan another Project Two Roll
• Go on a solo road trip to Virginia for the One Swell Day workshop (!!)
• Research new lenses for my Mamiya
• Update my workflow chalkboard + client binder

Nicole & Jason | Wade Oval Lagoon Fall Engagement

The only thing Nicole wanted for her engagement photos was a tree-lined street in the fall. That's it! Lucky for us, we got the nicest, sunny fall day … and I think it was the last warm day of the year. If Nicole and Jason have that kind of luck for engagement photos, I'm crossing my fingers that their luck holds on their wedding day. :)

This pair is one of the nicest you will ever meet. Jason was such a good sport about getting a ton of photos taken and Nicole made him laugh to ease the nerves. They were so interested in my life that I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. That right there is when an engagement session becomes more fun than work!

Seriously, you guys. Just go get yourselves a magazine deal already!

Baby Levi | Newborn

My favorite little redhead has a new brother (whose hair is, ironically, not red so I can still say I have a favorite little redhead :) )! Levi made his debut a few months ago, and while he looks teeny tiny here, he's actually now the cutest, chunkiest baby you ever saw. This little guy got so many kisses and snuggles during this session that I don't think he can ever doubt how much his little family loves him.

Levi has the coolest robot-themed nursery!
