April Goals

I’m a week late on the goal setting but that never hurt anyone, right? The truth is I was holding out on this post because I realllllly wanted it to be the first on my new blog, but because of some unforeseen technical issues we’re still working on making that new site live! Whew, launching a new website is no joke. The good news is that we’re almost there, and I’m going to be taking a break from blogging until we launch.

That’s also convenient because we’re doing a lot of traveling this month! My April goals are short and sweet for that reason. What are you planning for this month?

April Goals

• Finish The Enneagram by Richard Rohr and read Notes from a Blue Bike by Tsh Oxenreider and An Irish Doctor in Love and at Sea by Patrick Taylor
• Finish (FOR REAL) my new website + brand refresh
• Update first quarter tax document for 2016
• Be fully present during our April travels (i.e., leave work at home!)

Cleveland Museum of Art Maternity Photos

If this family looks familiar it's because they've been on the blog just a few times (here, here, here and here!). Gosh, I LOVE getting to know my clients. These three just became four when they welcomed sweet little Vivi into the world a couple weeks ago. We fit this maternity session in just before her arrival (how amazing does Jeanna look?!) and made sure to hop inside the art museum for some photos because it was rather chilly. In case you can't tell with all that snow. Jeanna, Brian and Wyatt had their game faces on!

Ali & Stephen | Frozen Lake Erie Engagement

Ali and Stephen planned the most epic engagement session I've ever photographed. These two are passionate to their core. They love Cleveland, their neighborhood of Collinwood and each other. Unique architecture is their jam (especially for Ali the architect!) They get giddy when Lake Erie freezes and they can explore the icy waves. They are enmeshed in their community, and I could tell just how much they adore this place they call home within minutes of meeting them.

We combined all that stuff they're passionate about for one unbelievable engagement session. During the coldest time of year I might add. These two were more than troopers in the near-zero-degree weather, they had a blast. Obviously, they were fun to photograph.

We started at the Penfield House in Willoughby, a Frank Lloyd Wright design surrounded by tons of land. While the house is for sale right now, you can reserve it for a night or two. Yeah. You can STAY in a Frank Lloyd Wright house. How cool is that?! Ali and Stephen have stayed there and even got engaged in the living room!

Then it was on to frozen Lake Erie ...

I could barely feel my fingers here, but they look radiant!

And finally, we stopped in Collinwood in the Waterloo Arts District. It's such an awesome, inspiring spot. That lock down there was part of a project Ali led called Locks of Love, from Waterloo.
