^^^ Baby yawns get me every time. Especially when they're from a baby of reallllly good friends. Our dear friends Nicole and Kelby had another beautiful baby boy, Mr. Beckett! (See baby #1 here.) He is really smiley (now at four months) and so laid back. This little guy was along for the ride during his newborn shoot, even when his big brother, Owen, wasn't quite so sure about all the commotion in his home. :)
Enjoy this plethora of black and white images. I don't think I've ever blogged FEWER color photos before!
I might be a little biased, but I think Baby Owen is the cutest 8-month old that ever lived. His parents are my friends from college so I'm allowed to say that, I think. :) I got to stay at their house last weekend while I shot a wedding in Cincinnati, and I was blown away by how much Owen has grown up since his newborn days, and even since December when I saw him last. This trip it hit me just how short of a time babies are babies. Owen is growing into his own and is looking more and more like a boy every day.
And let me just tell you, this kid's parents are so fantastic. Owen is such a happy baby and I think that's a testament to how great Nicole and Kelby are with him. Kelby can get this little guy to laugh like you've never seen. And Nicole has this calming presence that's a perfect compliment.
Thanks, you guys, for letting me be Owen's photographer and always opening your door when I'm in town. Love you three!
I cannot take the cuteness of those little jeans. That's a beaver, people. A beaver with glasses!
He loves that ball. That picture down there just CRACKS me up. He's all, Hey guys, just hanging out on my ball!
So far, March has been my least favorite month of 2013. Between the never-ending snow, being sick twice, and having Nathan in and out for work, I'm so ready for April showers.
I read this quote Sunday night determined to make Monday productive: "How you start your day determines your day." I was going to wake up early and have a healthy breakfast smoothie with Nathan before diving in to my full Inbox. I had my whole day planned out with big aspirations of culling Friday's wedding, taking pictures of and blogging my newly finished office, and working out. Instead. Instead I woke up sick yet again. I couldn't do anything but stagger between the couch, my bed and the bathroom, and all those productive plans? They went right out the window.
I will be the first to admit that I don't like my plans changed on me. I can be flexible, as long as I've determined ahead of time that I'm going to be flexible. Which kind of misses the point, you know?
I think this is my chance to take a deep breath and leave my to do list untouched on my computer. This is my chance to catch up on sleep and have a restful day because my body is telling me that's what I need. This is my chance to practice rolling with the punches because this is life. And maybe tomorrow I'll wake up ready to start my day the way I had planned on Monday.
I don't have my office to show you yet, but I have something way cuter. This is Owen. Remember him? I'll be blogging his 8-month photos soon!
Meet two of my best friends and their brand-new baby boy Owen. Nicole and I became really good friends freshman year at Miami when we would run down the hall to each other's dorm rooms. It was our tradition to spend lunch watching A Wedding Story (remember that show?!) trying to imagine actually being married. Now here we are, and she and Kelby have a beautiful baby!
Nicole and Kelby are gentle, patient, laid back, and have a fabulous sense of humor. These two are already great parents and I'm so excited to watch Owen grow in their house. You three are the best!
He was just loungin'. :)
Awww. He was SO tuckered out!
Good job on the nursery you two!
That one above is my favorite. Because he's got his Miami gear on ... clearly.
You are one ridiculously good looking family! Love you three. :)
