Film Mini Shoot #2 | Emily & Keith
I so, SO look forward to shooting with film each and every time I go to one of these mini shoots. Film is really a breath of fresh air for me, and I adore playing with the light and waiting in anticipation for these digital scans to arrive in my Inbox. I've learned to be more deliberate about each shot and really take my time and think through what I'm doing. It's such a nice pace.
A HUGE thanks to my cute former assistant, Emily, and her husband, Keith, for agreeing to model for my Mamiya. :) You guys are so good!
P.S. There are a couple digital photos mixed in here. Can you tell which is which? Hint: The digital photos are a different size than the film!
Emily and Keith were married two years ago and have such awesome respect and affection for each other.
Oh you guys. These next two? They're my FAVORITES!
I just looooove the light coming through those trees!
Fuji 400H | Richard Photo Lab
Sara & Jim | Indigo Lake Portraits
Sara and Jim are two of my favorite people ever. I did their engagement photos last fall, and when I put out a plea on Facebook for models for a teaching session I was planning for my second shooters, they didn't hesitate. I'm so incredibly happy we got to work together again because these two are so fun. Jim has such a good attitude and a constant smile and Sara giggles at everything he whispers in her ear. Perfect. :)
Fun news: I'm starting to play with film. :) :) Sara and Jim were super patient with me while I switched between my film camera and my digital one. Up there on the left is film, digital is on the right.
Sara and Jim are getting married in Mexico in just a few short months!
Alright, I have to brag on my second shooters a bit … that one up there on the right is from my new assistant Samantha. She has a great eye!
Sara and Jim make me smile. :) As does that photo up there on the left by my assistant Markie!
Love this one. You too look good together … and next to that lifesaver too. ;)
Love the laughter. It makes me so happy to take photos like this!
Kaedra & Alex | Peninsula Ohio Engagement
I know I say this ALL THE TIME, but I really am the luckiest photographer. I mean, just take a look at Kaedra and Alex. They are super photogenic, yes, but they are also the nicest people. Really. When I talked to Kaedra for the first time, we chatted for more than an hour. About her wedding, about her hometown of Akron, about Alex, about her job in Washington, D.C. Kaedra and Alex are so genuine and so sweet together. I love getting to know people like this. It's what makes my job so worthwhile!
And now … Kaedra and Alex! I can hardly wait for their spring wedding!
Such gorgeous people. :)
Love these next three. The light was sooooo pretty!
