Oh my goodness ... Samantha and Ethan. Where do I even start with them? These college sweethearts are so much fun to be around. One look at these photos and I bet you can tell that Samantha and Ethan adore each other. You'd be right. :) These two have made long distance work since college and they are just SO ready to be married ... and giddy at the prospect! They'll be tying the knot in sunny California next year, and I'm super excited for their new journey.
The BEST to you two.
Samantha has the best smile and the sunniest personality!
Ethan kept Samantha laughing our whole session. He is the friendliest guy.
We had the dreamiest light the day of our session.
I love fall engagement sessions. The colorful trees add so much dimension to the photos, and it's so nice to shoot on those hazy days. Rachel's only request for a location was that it must have lots of trees. Whitesburg Nature Preserve in Chagrin Falls is my new favorite place to shoot in the fall. It's literally covered with colorful trees for more than a month. So gorgeous!
I went to high school with Rachel AND we both attended Miami. It was so fun to catch up with her, especially as our 10-year high school reunion approaches. (Um, crazy!) She and Ryan (who is a Phi Tau ... come on! I love this couple!) are completely adorable together. They kept each other laughing the whole time. They have so much fun together, and that makes me super excited to photograph their June wedding next year!
I met Katelyn and Ryan at their BRAND-new house on a beautifully sunny spring morning. These two have so much ahead of them, including fixing up their darling house and tying the knot in January! I absolutely love hearing about this time in a couple's life because, having recently gone through it myself, I know about all the excitement that is on the horizon.
Katelyn and Ryan, the best to you both as you prepare for your life together. I'm so grateful I got to capture a little piece of it. :)
They were only together a few months before he left for boot camp. It was off to California, then Japan and soon North Carolina. To stay connected, they wrote letters, although he says he didn't get to write as much as he wanted to. Justin is a Marine and is always working, sometimes in the middle of the night.
As they were telling me their story, I mused that it's impressive that they've stayed together through all of the long distance. Not only together but connected. These two are definitely loyal and willing to do whatever it takes to support each other through the ups and downs. It makes me so happy to see couples with their priorities straight and in this for the marriage, not just the wedding day. That is what it's all about, people!
It was cold ... ridiculously cold ... the day of their engagement session. I honestly don't know how Amanda and Justin look so good in the photos on the beach. I would have been an eye-watering, frozen mess! They are obviously better models than me. :) Enjoy these two, and please give them props for withstanding the Northwestern Pennsylvania cold!
Right about here, standing on the beach of Lake Erie in January, was when we started to go numb. The wind chill had to have been -60 degrees. See how pleasant they look?!
Oh you know I had to use those cool red shutters that matched Amanda's coat perfectly!
And then it was off to warm up with some hot chocolate ...
Reading their letters they wrote to each other. :) I know they're so glad they won't have to do this much longer!
Amanda, you're gorg.
Are you kidding me?! I can't even take it! Hot tamales! :D
Your July wedding is going to be the opposite of this day! It makes me warm just thinking about it!
