They were convinced it was a girl. Jeanna and Brian decided not to find out the sex of their baby while Jeanna was pregnant (because, as Brian says, "It's one of the few, true surprises in life") … but, still, they were convinced it was a girl. So much so that they didn't really agree on a boy's name before they went to the hospital. And then Brian saw the mop of hair and knew, somehow, he had a son.

Jeanna and Brian are smitten with Wyatt Nathaniel. His pouty lips and hair just like his dad's, his porcelain skin and baby wrinkles--what's not to love?? I so enjoyed spending a chilly February afternoon with these three. Enjoy my favorites!

I love this one. It looks like Brian's already imparting his wisdom on Wyatt.

Baby Gabrielle | 1 Year

I vividly remember traveling to Karla and Cedric's house on a chilly February afternoon last year. They had just welcomed their baby girl into the world, and she was this tiny, little newborn sleeping in her crib. Already she had these eyelashes that you just knew were going to be gorgeous as she continued to grow. Has it really already been a year?? I can only image how time has flown for Karla and Cedric as they've watched their baby grow into this adorable and active almost-toddler. What a sincere pleasure it's been to keep up with this little girl and her kind parents. Here is Miss Gabrielle at 1 year young!

That personalized birthday book down there was a gift from Jen and Matt and Lucy. How fun is it that all my clients know each other??

Baby Lucy | Newborn

Baby Lucy came into the world a little earlier than expected. She's a tiny little thing--especially at 8 days old when she was photographed--but curious and feisty (check out that karate kick down below!) and sleepy, of course. She is a lucky lady to be born to Jen and Matt, who so obviously adore her and want to make her the happiest little girl on earth. I love these soft, light photos and think they're perfect for this baby girl.

What a sweet babe.

This little girl is Baby Lane's cousin. I bet they'll grow up being the best of friends.

Baby Owen | 8 Months

I might be a little biased, but I think Baby Owen is the cutest 8-month old that ever lived. His parents are my friends from college so I'm allowed to say that, I think. :) I got to stay at their house last weekend while I shot a wedding in Cincinnati, and I was blown away by how much Owen has grown up since his newborn days, and even since December when I saw him last. This trip it hit me just how short of a time babies are babies. Owen is growing into his own and is looking more and more like a boy every day.

And let me just tell you, this kid's parents are so fantastic. Owen is such a happy baby and I think that's a testament to how great Nicole and Kelby are with him. Kelby can get this little guy to laugh like you've never seen. And Nicole has this calming presence that's a perfect compliment.

Thanks, you guys, for letting me be Owen's photographer and always opening your door when I'm in town. Love you three!
