I meet clients in my home office these days, but way back when, I would travel to coffee shops all over Cleveland meeting brides and grooms and hearing about their wedding days. There were pros and cons to that. Pro: I looove the vibe at almost all coffee shops. The music and the atmosphere perfectly complement a steaming latte. Con: It can be impossible to have a conversation over all the other conversations happening in that one space. See what I mean? So now I bring my favorite parts of a coffee shop to my cozy office: hot drinks, comfy chairs and soothing music. That plus no background noise is really a win-win for me! Since it's been awhile since I shared a Creative Juices, I thought I'd share the playlist I use during client meetings. These are some of my all-time favorite songs, combined with some new favorites. I could listen to this every day (and sometimes I do)! I hope it inspires you today. :)
Amanda & Scott | Downtown Cleveland Anniversary Portraits
Making time for an anniversary session is one of my favorite things. What is an anniversary session you ask? Basically, it's just taking the time to get your portrait taken with your spouse. It can be around your anniversary time … or maybe six months later. I'll still call it an anniversary session (exhibit A).
But the point is, it's so important to remember each season of your life. Amanda and Scott just celebrated five years of marriage and are on the cusp of some exciting things in their life. They wanted to remember this time, how they are right now--loving Cleveland and each other. (Seriously, they looove Cleveland. Check out Amanda's blog about the city!)
We started at Playhouse Square because Amanda and Scott love the theater and are really jazzed about all the cool changes happening in the square.
The amazing chandelier is SO cool!
Amanda and Scott are huge comic buffs and brought some of their favorite comic books for a photo. I have never seen books in such mint condition before!
Cleveland is just really killing it lately. This new area overlooking the Cleveland Mall is gorgeous!
Baby Lucy | 3 Months
My very favorite thing about baby photography is getting to see these little ladies and gents grow up. It's SO cool comparing Lucy's newborn photos to these 3-month ones. It's only been THREE months and she's so much bigger! I really, really adore her and her family and am officially putting in a bid for Lucy to be the next Gerber Baby. :)
Lucy's actually still pretty tiny, but she does have some cute chunky thighs!
See, Gerber Baby. This one with her mom, Jen, is my favorite!
We took that same photo on the left during Lucy's newborn session. So amazing!
Tallmadge Circle Family Session
Want to see the two most adorable little girls? Well, scroll down because Clare and Maggie will just melt your heart. These two little ladies are so pretty in pink, and dare I say future Miami University students? :)
Fun story: I met Julie, their mom, at Scott Dining Hall on campus where we both worked. Yep, that's right. We mixed smoothies and twisted pretzels for the hungry students of Miami. How CRAZY that I'm now photographing her family! I don't think either of us would have called that one eight years ago!
Julie and her husband, Steve, are fellow Miami Mergers (you know how much I love Miami Mergers … here and here for just a couple examples) and are now doing such a wonderful job raising their two girls in Northeast Ohio. M family, I loved getting a peek into your life. Thanks for having me!
Clare is the most interesting 3-year-old I've ever met. While we were walking to the church in Tallmadge Circle she casually mentioned that it was "pitiful" that it was so cold outside. I couldn't have agreed more, Clare.
