Alonzo might look like a super serious guy in these photos, but don't let him fool you. He is the best deadpan jokester I've ever met. I'm pretty sure Sonya and I were laughing and/or shaking our heads at him the whole session. :D So yeah, this couple is really fun.
I met Monica and Shawn for their engagement photos on the most gorgeous September evening. I'm pretty sure the light says it all here. That and their constant laughter. Let's just say Shawn is a tad funny. ;)

The light at Mentor Headlands is just perfect in the evenings. The sun sets right over the water and you can shoot until the last possible moment.

Rachel and Pat lived 10 minutes from each other in Cleveland but had to go all the way to Louisville, Ky., to meet. They were both attending the Kentucky Derby with mutual friends, and they said they don't know that they ever would have met back home. Crazy how life works sometimes, right?
These two are the real deal. I was crossing my fingers that they would book as soon as they left our first meeting! Rachel and Pat are so nice and funny and enjoy each other's company no matter what they're doing. Rachel was sweet enough to e-mail me after their engagement session thanking me for such a great time and giving them a date night. This girl is so selfless. Really, they made the session so fun for me and that is why I love this job. I get to work with unbelievable people that I would probably never get the chance to meet otherwise. Life is definitely full of beautiful surprises!
We started the evening at Huntington Beach in Bay Village. The light was bouncing in all kinds of pretty ways.
Can we also talk about how gorgeous these two are?! Fun fact: That's the hat (and dress!) Rachel wore to the Kentucky Derby when she met Pat.
Then it was off to Voinovich Park to catch the last of the light ...

It was a BEAUTIFUL night to spend on the beach. Cleveland really does have some of the most gorgeous scenery, and that includes Lake Erie. I was so glad Sarah and Anthony picked Huntington Beach for their session because it's one of my favorite places to shoot!
These two knew right away that they were going to be together forever. After a chance meeting at a car dealership ... here they are, ready to get married! I just love stories like theirs. One moment could have changed everything, but obviously Sarah and Anthony are meant to be.
