The Finished Product | Nolan's Nursery

Before we even knew if Baby Baldwin was a boy or girl, I knew I wanted to do a neutral nursery. I'm not super into the stereotypical boy and girl stuff; I saw clean, white walls and lots of black, brown, cream and gold in the tiny room we'd picked for the nursery.

That was the challenge: Nolan's nursery is pretty small and we had to be really intentional about the bigger pieces we picked for his room. I think it works though! Yes, we wish we had a little bit more room. A bigger dresser would be helpful, and the rocking chair hits the wall sometimes, but it's a cozy little space that I hope he enjoys for awhile. :)

The Finished Product | Kitchen Nook

Minimalist Kitchen Nook Nathan and I laugh all the time (really, we crack ourselves up) about how when we bought our house at the end of 2011, we thought we'd have it furnished, painted, decorated and certain parts remodeled all within a year. Oh, we were so naive. Minus the fact that all that stuff takes a lot of money and we tend to be a little frugal with our bank account, it also takes a ton of time. Duh. But we've been having a lot of fun the last few years as we slowly work through our house room by room.

We recently tackled this funny little space off our kitchen. We call it the nook, well, because it is. It sat empty for so long and finally we figured we should probably have a kitchen table. We painted the space white (the top part was green) and added a little crown molding. Nathan built the shelves and we quickly filled them with stuff we already had. Easy!

We're still thinking about getting a rug for the space, but I'm little wishy-washy about that one. The fact is that the floor is incredibly cold in the winter because this space was an add on and there's nothing below it. But it also seems like a lot of work to keep a rug clean beneath a kitchen table. Any thoughts? Wishful thinking is that there's a rug out there that's equally cozy but easy to keep clean. Does that exist?

The Finished Product | Entryway

Cleveland Ohio House RennovationHello, neglected house. I still remember you and all your sprucing needs. This is about the time of year I'm sobusyIcanbarelythink, and Nathan takes over as the domestic one. Really. He washes dishes, cooks dinner and keeps our little house tidy. He's the best.

In the midst of all that, he managed to build a bench for our entryway. Oh yeah, and a custom coat hanger. Did I mention he's the best? This space is tiny, but I wanted to show off his handiwork. Enjoy!

Cleveland Ohio House Rennovation Cleveland Ohio House Rennovation Nathan did this all by himself! From start to finish! At first we weren't so sure about adding in a permanent bench to an already tight space, but now we can't imagine this spot without it.

Cleveland Ohio House Rennovation Haha! I just noticed Nathan peeking around the doorway in this photo. ;)

The Finished Product | Guest Bedroom

Decorating a room is a funny thing. You have these grand ideas in your head, and then sometimes when it's all finished the room doesn't look like that picture in your head. I had every intention of doing this scheme in our guest bedroom. But then somehow pink and red got thrown in there, and we had to make it work because we'd already come too far. All in all, not what I had in mind, but I think it works. If you don't think it does, please don't tell me. ;) Haha, just kidding! I've stressed over this way more than necessary. I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Here are the befores of our guest bedroom. Just a blank slate!
